1. Allah the merciful shows mercy upon the merciful people. So have mercy upon those on the earth, so that the one in the heaven has mercy on you (Abu Dawud)
2. A believer (Mu’min) is the one who is sociable (with them), and there is no good in the one who is not sociable (with others) nor in the one who is not met sociably (by others). And the best amongst the people is the one who benefits the people the most. (Dar Qutni)

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah does not judge according to your bodies and appearances, but He scans your hearts and looks into your deeds.” (Muslim)
On the authority of Abu Musa Al Mashari (may Allah be please with him), who said:
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Charity is necessary for every Muslim”. The Holy Prophet was asked: “What if a person has nothing?” The Holy Prophet replied: “He should work with his own hands for his benefit and then give something out of such earnings in charity”. The companions asked “what if he is not able to work?” The Holy Prophet said: “He should help poor and needy persons”. The companions further asked “what if he cannot do even that?” The Holy Prophet said, “he should urge others to do good”. The companions submitted “what if he lacks that also?” The Holy Prophet said “he should check himself from doing evil. That is also charity.”
(Bukhari and Muslim)
“He should check himself from doing evil. That is also charity” means all people are capable of committing evil by hurting other people. Therefore, treating people kindly is the same as performing a charity. Also, the person who is kind to others brings good deeds upon himself in return and consequently causes more charity to be performed.
