MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

2G/2.5G/3G/HSDPA Performance Optimization Engineer is Responsible for provision of network optimization & Assurance services to  customers in line with organizational policies and procedures using best industry practices.

The main tasks of 2G/2.5G/3G/HSDPA Performance Optimization Engineer are:

Plan and Perform various test cases to trace and monitor air interface to asses the required grade of service, coverage, handover objectives are met and to determine how subscribers Perceive their network's performance.

Plan and fine tune the orientation and down tilt of the antenna to ensure proper signal distribution (reasonably good RSCP, Ec/Io, overshoot control non-dominant pilot region control) and eliminate rapid signal change conditions in the target area.

Network Planning and optimization for HSDPA UMTS Networks for higher Data Throughput rates.

The successful candidate must possess excellent knowledge on CSW & PSW call Call setup time optimization.

The successful candidate will be required to exercise his skills on the PS data TCP Throughput Optimization.

Capacity/Hotspot Planning: Reduce coverage overlap, site closest to hotspot to minimize TX power, avoid pilot pollution.

Fine tuning of Nokia RAN Parameters and counters and their application involving Network optimization and KPI assurance.

Capacity Analysis and Solution Recommendation. Planning and implementation of features related to network capacity including parameter planning, post implementation analysis and Management Reporting.

EDAP, PCU & RNC planning and Optimization using Nokia Counters and parameters.

LAC/RAC Planning and Optimization in line with growing traffic trends. Analysis of Paging mechanism and fine tuning of parameters to reach optimal KPI's.

Adjacency and Frequency Plan optimization.
Management reporting i.e. Dashboard Reports, Routine daily/weekly and monthly Reports etc involving network KPI's and worst cells by making use of Raw counters and available Performance reports.
Abis signaling optimization and Performance assurance.
Audit and consistency check on Parameters, configuration and performance KPI's. Removal of any discrepancies.  Fault Management and its impact on network KPI's.
Fine tuning of specific RF parameters for the sites and clusters to reach optimal thresholds of KPI's.

Assist Field drive test teams in validating the site configuration & performance in the field during the site and cluster drive processes.

Drive test data post processing and analysis to isolate and remove any abnormalities in the network behavior and verification that Network behaves in line with Planned parameters.

REQUIREMENTS:
BSC (MSC) in Telecommunications / Electronics Engineering
Fluency in spoken English. Arabic is a Plus.
Personal flexibility regarding travel within the country.
Excellent Knowledge of planning and optimization processes

GPRS/Edge Optimization Expert

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

GPRS/Edge Optimization Expert is Responsible for provision of network optimization & Assurance services to customers in line with organizational policies and procedures using best industry practices.

The main tasks of GPRS/Edge Optimization Expert do include all 2G/2.5G optimization tasks with main focus on data services and QOS attributes of GPRS/Edge services.

Being GPRS/Edge Optimizer, you should have excellent level knowledge of Nokia Parameters and counters used for GPRS/Edge service Optimization.

The short listed candidate must possess advanced level of Knowledge on PCU& EDAP Planning & Optimization.

You will be required to demonstrate your ability to test various scenarios like HTTP/FTP/WAP services to assess GPRS/EDGE performance followed by subsequent analysis and optimization of relevant Nokia parameters for maximum throughput.

You should be able to develop and implement GPRS/Edge service optimization Process including critical Reporting plans and should be able to interface your abilities with Customer . This would require excellent communication skills and an over all knowledge of GSM/Edge/3G domain for data services.

You should be able to conduct regular feature/parameter and configuration audit relevant to data services while being able to fix the problems.

You must possess good knowledge of RAN interfaces with core operations and relevant parameters at Core side that might have impact on GPRS/Edge performance.

Being a successful candidate, you will be required to exercise your abilities on Signaling capacity optimization which may include; Air Interface Signaling, PCH, AGCH, RACH, SDCCHTRXSIG, PCU, BCSU etc etc

You should be able to analyze the implemented resource allocation strategy and suggest improvements to meet the desired KPIs in line with changing traffic patterns.

You should possess good knowledge on End to End data rate maximization techniques at different layers including RLC/MAC and BSC by application of different available techniques  e.g HLR Settings, Flow control, TCP/IP settings/Power control, Link adaptation settings etc etc.

You will be required to optimize mobility optimization which may involve cell Selection/Re selection without LAC/RAC Update, with LAC/RAC Update  Inter PAPU and Inter SGSN cell select and Re select. You may also be required to exercise your skills with Cell Reselect Hysterisis settings, PCU balancing, LA/RA design.

In addition to above tasks , the selected Candidate must also be able to demonstrate his knowledge on general 2G optimization tasks.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cluster drive test analysis and optimization Engineer is Responsible for provision of network optimization & Assurance services to customers in line with organizational policies and procedures using best industry practices.

The main tasks of Cluster drive test analysis and optimization Engineer are the same as 2G/2.5G/3G/HSDPA performance optimization Engineer with main focus on Cluster drive testing and data collected for analysis.

The selected candidate will be required to analyze the data collected through drive tests and perform initial optimization before a site goes on commercial service.

He will be required to do Drive test data post processing and analysis to isolate and remove any abnormalities in the network behavior and verification that Network behaves in line with Planned parameters.

He will be required to lead a team of drive testers and Riggers for Site Audit and verification and later performance test case drive testing. He will be required to prepare the site level checklists and cluster Reports once the site/cluster has achieved the desired KPI's.

Being the first in line of optimization, he will be required to coordinate extensively with other optimization functions and planning teams for smooth and flawless integration of newly integrated sites into commercial service.

He is supposed to possess the overall knowledge of network Interfaces and key processes of optimization. In addition to drive test analysis, he may also be asked to do performance optimization using OSS performance KPIs.

The selected candidate will lead a team of 3G Performance optimization Engineers and must possess leadership skills. He must have experience in a similar role.

Being a successful candidate, he should be able to run technology workshops with the customer and should be able to achieve the desired KPIs.

He should possess excellent problem solving skills and must act as a catalyst towards problem solving. He will be required to solve problems in minimum amount of time.

He should be able to exercise his knowledge on RAN parameters and relevant counters involved in service optimization.
